Looks like it already has a crack. Just start driving some wedges into it. If anyone asks what you're doing just tell them you hate to see good firewood going to waste.

1/2 right. That is Andy, but that particular grove is two counties north of here...Calaveras Grove. We went to Wawona Grove.

Well, one time before the Republic became a state, we owned clear up into Colorado territory. Now we just boast more immigrants and Yankees than any other state...

By I do concede to any of the other Western territory states. We've got pretty lands like Big Bend, Palo Duro Canyon, and the amazing Texas Hill Country, but I do like my desert mountain neighbors. Nobody beats mountains!

Bigger than our Sequoias???? Ah, hell no! :dirol:

The stump of that particular tree was used as a dance floor at one time, as well as a dwelling.

Did you notice how they cut it down? Big arse drills...then big arse wedges!

Just up a few hundred feet was one that had fallen during the civil war...folks camped nearby said the earth shook. Over 300' long...and, as you can tell...quite thick.

Yeah, those sequoias are related to jungle trees in SE Asia. Cali and Asia were once together a few thousand ago...

Lemme see if I drum up a pic of one.

Ha! No...just some very good friends and part of our group. Not nose picking, BTW.

I couldn't get good pics that day because I had Caleb (big-90lb Lab PUP) on a leash around four children who were most often waving sticks! It was making him crazy.
