We're meeting with JWs again this afternoon. Different couple this time. This time we will focus on the Torah -- that it still applies and is directly applicable to our lives. We will also discuss who the Aleph and the Tav is.

Pray for us -- I like this couple.

Awesome! Praying for you all... Torah does still apply directly to our lives... :s_yes

Anytime these folks come around my door, I always fellowship with them a little bit. They usually have no idea what they are walking into and leave saying, "I've never heard that before..." I like how JWs are family oriented and dedicated to the Kingdom. They also ditch the pagan holidays compared to the SDA.

All these groups springing up from the zeit geist of the "Second Great Awakening..." Pentecostals, Mormons, Shakers, Millerites, SDA, JWs... they all seem to grasp at coming out of the harlot, but not far enough...

Over the last couple of years, it seems they always come on the Sabbath. I always invite them in, but they never accept, so we usually have a good 20 to 30 minute talk about the Bible on the front porch. You're right Jon, they usually do say they'll have to look into that or they look astounded by something you share with them.
But I always make sure they at least hear about the Sabbath and the Feasts and Holy Days.

Yes, that's pretty much what happens on my front porch as well. I usually validate them for not doing the pagan holidays, but then we get into the discussion about the Sabbath and the other moedim, but no answer except "the Jews keep those days," etc. My favorite discussion is over the newness of the letter "J" from the "Y" and "I" around the 1500s, that his name is not "Jehovah" but "Yahweh," that's the part that they usually get baffled by... It's funny, this is the same dilemma that Christians have over LORD and God mistranslations in the Bible...

They are a lot of fun! When I still lived in town, they would happen by often, each time promising so and so to come next time to answer the questions they had no answer for. They quit coming. :dunno:
