Thanks so much for the tetrad times, Temu. Having seen this post with the date and times that the partial and full eclipse occurs as we were preparing for passover tomorrow :shok: , the thought crossed my mind that just maybe the passover meal is to be on the 3rd after all, and perhaps that's why the eclipses are during the wee hours of the 4th?

:s_thumbsup AWESOME! Wow. Thanks for posting. Are those your pics?

The eclipse was supposed to be visible at about 5 a.m. in my neck of the woods and when I got up at 3:30 a.m. to let my new puppers outside, I looked to see where the moon was in the sky. I was disappointed to see it had already sunk behind the highlands (I'm in a river valley), and the 5 a.m. show would probably only be visible if viewed outside the valley.

:(

I was looking all over the web this morning for real pics of this morning's event and couldn't find any current ones. How great you were able to witness it.

Your welcome! Yep...got to try our new camera...60x zoom...no tripod! Not as clear as I'd hoped, but it will be better next time with a tripod!

I realized after I posted you said in your first post they were your own pics from your new camera.

Yes. I can't be easy to shoot that. A tripod would help a lot. Some photogs in those cases also use a cable release or remote shutter release. Then you can use a much slower shutter speed without getting any camera shake.

I have much to learn about these things. I have always been point and shoot! :pardon:

Good Pix!

When you get your tripod or use a tripod, there is a hook where the lower legs connect in the middle after extending the legs. That hook is a very handy thing because it can hold your camera bag or it can be used for night shoots by hanging a weight from the hook. The weight holds the tripod steady and reduces movement when you click your shutter or hold the shutter open.

Also, if your ISO is 800, you can get better night shots.
