Just returned from obgyn office. I had discovered an unexplained tenderness on lower left side in ovary area so saw a specialist today. She found a bit of a mass there, nothing large so I'm scheduled for an ultrasound on the 31st (this coming wed.). It's most likely a cyst but if the ultrasound shows a cyst, then the next step is to test for malignancy, and go from there.

I'm not especially worried since ovarian cysts tend to run in the family, and ovarian cancer doesn't, but these things can be a bit sneaky so it's just best to err on the side of caution. Regardless, Yah is still the best one to turn to.

Thanks in advance. I'll let y'all now as soon as I know.

You are in my prayers.

Yes, I have a cyst on my already not so healthy liver. That worried me a whole lot. Turns out; it's just a cyst.

I know how that nagging worry feeling feels though.

Trust in Him. He made your body. Heal can heal that body.

The sonogram is done and now we hurry up and wait till Jan 12 to see what the doc says.

I was a basket case this morning, but I feel better now that the test is done.

The sonographer said she didn't see anything on the ovary, but there was a bunch of bowel in the way, and that the bowel may be the problem. Had a colonoscopy done in April and everything's good on the inside so I have no clue as to what the problem may be.

Just have to wait and see. I was very worried about cancer since my best friend died of ovarian cancer on my birthday two years ago. There were no warning symptoms for her, and I've not had any either except for pain during a routine female health check which is what prompted the sonogram.

It sure does get the mind thinking about what to do in the event of cancer. I'm not sure I'd have the strength to survive the chemo if I'd have to have it. The ugly part is that less than 44% of women live for 5 years after, and to think you spend the better part of the rest of your life being horribly sick in the hope of a possible chance...just wow.

Women have around a 1% chance of even getting ovarian cancer in the first place, and yet it's one of the leading causes of death among women. Such a low chance of even getting it, but if you do, such a low chance of surviving it...what a nasty disease.

There's no way a person can avoid thinking about the possible ramifications of what could be wrong..especially us older gals, from minor to major, but the ovarian ca info was horrifying!

There ya go. Cancer has no warning symptoms. My mother only had a nagging cough and she has last stage lung cancer.

My Dad used to fix all of our vehicles before they got so computerized. He would say that most of the time the noisiest problems were the easiest to fix.

Your bowels are very close to your female parts so I bet you just have a sore bowel area. Sometimes a bowel can rub you inside like sandpaper and cause soreness.

My point is try to not worry too much sis. You'll rob yourself of joy.

We are praying and pulling for ya. :friends:

I am supposed to have a dr. Appointment monday to discuss the results, but i am stuck in texas right now and i am supposed to leave here monday. I wont make it on time and will have to reschedule. I had planned on leaving sunday (tomorrow) but that wasn't able to happen. Hoping for the best on monday. I am amazed by jow cold it is here, but its warmer than home. Pretty country though. I miss rural agricultural but i also like the amenities of goods and services that bigger cifies have to offer.

At this point i am sure that all is well though. Thanks tons for prayer support. Its truly a comfort.

Thanks for asking Temu. The small amount of discomfort I did have is gone and all seems well for the time being. I think I'm just going to leave it alone and thank Yah for mercy.

In the meantime, please pray for my step daughter Ama. We learned she has invaisive breast cancer, it's spread, and she doesn't want chemo, but is searching alternatives. She has 2 kids under 9 years old. Her father, my late husband, just died last May and she's been sruggling with that as well. I guess she's going to have surgery and we'll see after that.

I can sure relate after my own scare.

Bless Him for his mercy and lovingkindness.

Ama is due to have her mastectomy in the morning (Monday 2/9/15). MRI shows two large tumors in one breast.

She's still opposed to any chemo therapy, and she's got an aggressive type of cancer.

I'm hoping everything is alright, sis. Yah be with you all, and I agree with the rest of the group that YHWH heal you completely. Amen.

Thanks VW and all who are still praying. It turns out that the surgery is actually TODAY. I'd been misinformed about it being last monday. I'm not familiar with all that goes along with breast cancer as I never really dealt with it much beyond transporting people to and from. But I learned that hers is a stage 2, and is resistant to hormones...I guess that makes it a more aggressive cancer, one more likely to reoccur.

However, she DID go ahead and concent to some chemo...at least pre-op chemo, I'll know more later.

She seems to think she's easily replaced...ie her husband can get a new wife, the kids a new mother.. :( I pray she sees just how precious she really IS...like a Jewel, because there is only ONE of her.
Her husband and kids don't want another wife/mother. They want HER. So if you would assist me in praying that she sees how precious she is in the eyes of others, and most especially Yah and her family.

And she's having a double mastectomy.
